For those of you who want to gain exposure in the theatre, a good way to start is by volunteering.

I had started out volunteering as FOH (front of house) and watched many free shows by many theatre companies this way... :P
And as I volunteer, I talk, network with people who are practising theatre and learn!

If you have some free time during the September holidays, you can give it a shot. If you are not experienced enough, a good position to start is FOH assistant.

Here is one by Insource Theatre. The theatre company's performances are mainly physical and movement theatre.

Audition - 30th August

Here's an audition for short film. If you are interested in putting your face on the screen, or just for utter fun, peace and laughter of going for audition, here you go. They might not might not pay/reimburse transport and food. Ask Renee or G if you want to know what to find out before going for audition. Acting for theatre and film are quite different.

It doesn't matter if you don't belong to the age group of the cast. With appropriate make up, you can be transformed to the right age group they want if they really want you to act in that role. But it does matter if you don't belong to the right gender... they can't do much about it... *shrugs*

If you can't make it, there's always other chances.

Here are the details:

Three groups of Film Sound and Video Third year students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic are working on their final year specialist short film project. They need large amounts of talents and would like to invite all who are interested in acting and want a chance to appear in a professional short film project to come forward and give it a try. They aim to submit their short films to international film festivals. They said that all talents can be assured of a professional working environment and quality scripts.
